Instagram: How to connect Instagram with Kommo

Requirements

For direct Instagram login (no Facebook required):

  • An Instagram Business Account.
  • No need for a Facebook Business Page or any Facebook link.

For Facebook connection:

  • An Instagram Business Account.
  • A Facebook Business Page.
  • The Instagram account must be linked to Facebook before connection.

Note: If a personal Instagram account is used, you will be asked to switch to a professional account during setup.

Before you begin

Kommo allows businesses to connect Instagram Business Accounts for messaging, story mentions, quick-reply buttons, and welcome messages—all within Kommo. Read our overview article to learn about all Instagram’s features.

There are two ways to connect Instagram to Kommo:

  • Connect directly via Instagram – This method allows users to connect without a Facebook account.
  • Connect via Facebook – This method requires a Facebook Business Page and a linked Instagram account.

Connecting Instagram directly (no Facebook required)

  1. Open Kommo → Settings → Integrations → Instagram.

  1. Click Continue with Instagram.

  1. Log in using your Instagram Business Account credentials. Follow the authentication steps, then confirm the connection.

  1. You will be redirected back to Kommo, where the integration status updates to Active.

After connecting, you can:

  • Add additional Instagram accounts – Connect multiple business accounts via the integration widget.

  • Manage multiple accounts – Select and switch between accounts easily.

  • Disconnect Instagram accounts – Remove one or multiple accounts at any time.

Connecting Instagram via Facebook

  1. Open Kommo → Settings → Integrations → Instagram.

  1. Click Continue with Facebook.

  1. On Facebook, click Continue as “Your Business page name”.

Note: Log in with the same Facebook account used for any Kommo integrations (Messenger, Comments, Lead Ads, or Facebook Ads). Ensure your Facebook account has a verified email address.

  1. Click Get started.

  1. Then, click Log in.

  1. Select a Facebook Page to associate with your Instagram account.

Note: If Facebook and Instagram are already connected, this step is skipped.

  1. Enable message access by toggling permissions, then click Next.

  1. Select the Business account that you want to integrate with Kommo. You have the option to choose the current and future businesses or just the current business. If you choose both options, Kommo will have access to your current businesses as well as any future businesses you create. If you opt for current businesses only, Kommo will have access solely to the businesses you select.
  2. Click Continue.

  1. Choose the Pages that you want to connect with Kommo. You can choose the current and future pages or just the current page. Click Continue once you’re done.

  1. Select the Instagram account that you want to integrate with Kommo. If you chose both options, Kommo will have access to your Instagram Accounts as well as any Instagram Account you create in the future. If you opt for your current Instagram Account only, Kommo will have access solely to the account you select. After that, click Continue.

  1. Review the permissions that you have to grant in order to connect your Instagram to Kommo, after that, click Save.

  1. Your Instagram is now connected to Kommo. Click Got it to return to Kommo.

  1. Once you're logged in, simply click on the + Add page button to select the tools you want to use on the Instagram messages and stories & Comments.
