WhatsApp Cloud API: Logging out or deleting a number
After linking to the WhatsApp Cloud API, phone numbers are exclusively connected to it. That means they can't be used for other WhatsApp apps or different Kommo accounts. But, if you ever need to log out or delete a number to connect it elsewhere, it's easy! You’ll just need to follow a few simple steps.
Note: If you disconnect your WhatsApp account or a specific number from Kommo, there are some consequences to consider.

What happens if you log out or delete your number from WhatsApp Cloud API?
Here's what to expect when you log out or delete a number from WhatsApp Business Cloud API:

Pause in automations: Kommo will temporarily pause any automations or bots associated with the disconnected account or number. This means you won't receive or send new WhatsApp messages until you reconnect.

Data security: All of your templates, contacts, chat history, and account details will remain securely stored in Kommo during the disconnection.
If you logged out of your WhatsApp account:
- To reconnect it with Kommo or use WhatsApp via another provider, you should delete the phone number associated with your account in your WhatsApp Manager settings within your Mera account. For that, you should delete it manually both from Kommo and from Meta.
If you delete a number from Kommo:
- From the technical side, logging out works in the same way as number deletion. The number is deleted from the table and on our end it is not connected to Kommo anymore, but in Meta it remains connected to Kommo. This is why before using this number with another WhatsApp provider or reconnecting it with Kommo, you also should delete the number from everywhere - both in Kommo and in your Meta account.

From your Kommo account, go to Settings > Integrations.

From your Kommo account, go to Settings > Integrations.

Find WhatsApp Business Cloud API widget > Accounts.

Click the X icon next to the number you want to delete.
How to delete a registered phone number from Meta?

Navigate to your Facebook Business Suite and log into your account.

Choose Settings > WhatsApp Accounts > WhatsApp Manager or simply click on All Tools in the left column, and then choose WhatsApp Manager.
- Select your business portfolio on the board and you’ll see the phone numbers connected to your account.
- Press the bin icon to delete the phone number.

If the phone number previously had the status Connected, you might be asked to provide the password for your Facebook account linked to the WABA.
Note: Only a business admin for the WhatsApp Business Account has the authority to delete a phone number. You can't delete a number if paid messages were sent from it in the last 30 days. To determine when a number will be eligible for deletion, you can view the Insights for that number.
