Recurring payments

June 10, 2024

Recurring payments make it easy to manage your Kommo subscription without re-entering your payment details each time or remembering billing dates. Just set up your order details and payment frequency, and you’ll be charged automatically. This payment method is also used for upgrades or adding user seats. If you cancel your subscription, recurring payments will stop automatically.

In this article, you’ll learn about:

How to enable recurring payments

Recurring payments are supported and automatically enabled by PayPal and Stripe (card payments). You can find more details about payment systems here.

You can set up recurring payments when subscribing or during another order with an active subscription. Your account will always have a linked payment method, ensuring future automatic charges.

Creating and paying for orders

With recurring payments enabled, you can upgrade your plan and add user seats in the Billing section. Your order will be paid using your linked payment method, so you won't need to re-enter your payment details. To create and pay for an order, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Create a new order.
  3. Press Checkout.
  4. Pay for your order using your linked payment method.

To pay for an already created Stripe order with another card or to pay for a PayPal order with a different PayPal account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Disable recurring payments.
  3. Go to Order history, find your order, and press Pay now.
  4. Enter new payment details.

To pay for an order using a different payment system:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Disable recurring payments.
  3. Create a new order.
  4. Select payment system.
  5. Enter new payment details.

How to renew subscription with recurring payments enabled

Nine days before your subscription expires, you'll receive a reminder email about the upcoming charge.

Three days before your subscription ends, an automatic renewal order will be created, and we will attempt to process the payment using your linked payment method.

  • If the payment is successful, your order status will be “Paid,” and you’ll receive a payment confirmation email. Your subscription will be renewed.
  • If the payment fails, you’ll receive an email about the unsuccessful payment attempt. In the Billing section, you'll see an order with the status “Pending” and a Pay now button. The reason for the payment failure will be described below the order. We’ll attempt to process the payment again in 24 hours if recurring payments weren't disabled.

Manual payment with recurring payments enabled

To pay for an order manually using your linked card or PayPal account:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Order history.
  2. Find your order and press Pay now.

To pay for an order manually with a different card or PayPal account:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Disable recurring payments.
  3. Go to Order history, find your order, and press Pay now.
  4. Enter new payment details.

If recurring payments were disabled after the payment attempt (e.g., due to an expired card), follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Order history.
  2. Find your order and press Pay now
  3. Enter new payment details

Renewing with a different payment system

To renew your subscription using a different payment system:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Disable recurring payments (if enabled).
  3. Manually create an order for subscription renewal and select a new payment system.

How to disable recurring payments

If you disable recurring payments, please note:

  • You’ll need to enter payment details for each order.
  • You’ll need to create renewal orders manually.
  • Your subscription won’t renew automatically at the end of the paid period.
  • Your current paid subscription will remain unaffected.

To disable recurring payments:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Toggle the switch to disable recurring payments, and your payment method will be removed.
