LinkedIn: Capture leads from LinkedIn forms

October 30, 2024

Our LinkedIn Integration allows you to manage LinkedIn leads directly within Kommo, keeping your sales process streamlined. This integration connects LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms with Kommo, automatically creating deals for each new lead and keeping track of LinkedIn engagement in one place.

In this article, you’ll learn:

What is the LinkedIn Integration?

The LinkedIn Integration lets you connect LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms to Kommo, creating leads for every new lead from LinkedIn. This integration supports lead syncing, automated lead creation, and ongoing tracking of lead information. Please note that while Kommo captures your LinkedIn leads, you’ll need to return to LinkedIn to send direct messages to these leads; messaging them from within Kommo is not available.

Benefits of the LinkedIn Integration

With the LinkedIn Integration in Kommo, you can:

  • Automate lead management: Automatically create leads in Kommo for each lead that completes a LinkedIn form, helping you manage LinkedIn leads efficiently.
  • Centralize data: All LinkedIn lead information is stored in Kommo, reducing the need to switch between platforms.
  • Track activity: Lead form activity, including contact details and other mapped fields, is logged in Kommo, making it easy to track engagement.

Limitations of the LinkedIn integration

Keep these limitations in mind:

  • Role-based permissions: Users need appropriate LinkedIn permissions to manage Lead Gen Forms. If a user loses access, the integration will stop generating new leads, and a notification will appear in Kommo’s Notification Center.
  • Field mapping limitations: Changes to LinkedIn forms (such as adding or removing fields) require remapping in Kommo to prevent data mismatches.
  • Messaging: Although Kommo captures LinkedIn leads, direct messaging them from Kommo is not supported. You will need to use your LinkedIn profile to reach out to these leads.

Note: If you frequently update LinkedIn forms, remember to check field mappings in Kommo to ensure accurate data syncing.

Requirements for setup

Before you begin, ensure each user has their own LinkedIn account and access to your company or ad account’s organic or promotional forms and leads.

How to integrate LinkedIn with Kommo

Setting up the LinkedIn integration with Kommo is quick and easy. Once set up, Kommo will automatically create leads for each lead generated through LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms. Follow these steps to complete the integration:

  1. Go to Integrations in Kommo, select LinkedIn, and click Install.

  1. Click on Sign in to LinkedIn.

  1. Follow the prompts and click Allow to connect your LinkedIn account to Kommo.

  1. After completing authorization, go to Lead Gen Forms in Kommo and select Add Form.

  1. Choose your LinkedIn Lead Gen Form type—either Organic (free) or Ads (paid)—and map each LinkedIn field to the relevant fields in Kommo.

Note: Remember to double-check field mappings if you’ve recently updated or edited fields in LinkedIn. Any change in the form fields will require remapping in Kommo to prevent data mismatches.

  1. If you have a form ready for testing, simply fill it out on LinkedIn, and a new lead will be created in Kommo automatically! If you don’t have a test form, just wait for an incoming lead to complete the form—their data will appear in Kommo as soon as it’s submitted.

  1. If everything works correctly, you’ll see leads created in Kommo for each new LinkedIn lead.

  1. If you encounter any authorization issues or missing permissions, a notification will appear in the Notification Center to guide you through reauthorizing or updating your permissions.

Note: Regularly check your form mappings and authorization status to ensure that lead data flows correctly into Kommo. Any permission changes in LinkedIn can disrupt the integration.

Using LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms with Kommo

After setting up the integration, you’re ready to start managing LinkedIn leads directly in Kommo. Here’s how to use the LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms within Kommo:

Viewing new leads:

  • Each time a lead completes a LinkedIn form, a new lead is automatically created in Kommo, along with all mapped data. To view lead details, open the deal card in Kommo.

Updating mappings:

  • If you need to adjust field mappings (e.g., if LinkedIn form fields have changed), go to Integrations > Installed > LinkedIn. Click on the form name and update the mappings accordingly.

Note: If you notice missing data fields in Kommo leads, verify that mappings are up-to-date. Deleted or modified fields in LinkedIn forms may not sync correctly unless remapped.

Managing authorization and permissions:

  • If LinkedIn authorization expires (e.g., due to a security check or account verification issue), Kommo will notify you in the Notification Center with a message prompting you to reauthorize your account:

Note: Ensure you have proper LinkedIn permissions to access Lead Gen Forms. If permissions change, Kommo may not be able to sync new leads, and you’ll see a Notification Center message with instructions to update your role in LinkedIn.

Handling deleted LinkedIn forms:

  • Currently, if a LinkedIn form is deleted, Kommo won’t receive a notification and will continue to display the form as a source in Kommo.

  • Important: Deleted LinkedIn forms will remain visible in Kommo’s sources, but they won’t generate new leads. Regularly verify active forms in LinkedIn to avoid data inconsistencies.

Dealing with Field Mapping issues:

  • If a mapped field is deleted in Kommo, leads generated from LinkedIn forms will display a notification with the unmapped fields.

  • Notification: Kommo alerts the user in the Notification Center to remap fields if there’s a mismatch, specifying which fields require remapping.
