What is broadcasting?

Broadcasting lets you send or schedule messages to many people at once. When you send a broadcast, each person will receive a private message, without being part of a group, and they won't know that others received the same message.

Broadcasting is straightforward but packed with potential. Here’s a brief rundown of how it works:

  1. Decide on Salesbot or a Custom broadcast: The first decision you’ll make is whether to use Salesbot or to create a fully custom broadcast. To learn more about the process, refer to our How to set up broadcasting? article.
  2. Write a broadcast text: Create a message that speaks to your audience. Keep it concise and engaging.
  3. Choose your audience: Select the group of contacts you’d like to send the message to. You can segment your audience based on tags, stages, or any criteria relevant to your business.
  4. Write a message or select a previously created template: If you’ve already created a message template, reuse it to maintain brand consistency. Alternatively, write a new message specifically for this broadcast.
  5. Choose your channels: Select which channels (i.e., WhatsApp, Instagram) you wish to send your broadcast through. You can send it through a single channel or multiple ones.
  6. Set time or schedule: Choose whether to send your message immediately or schedule it for a specific date and time. Use scheduling to align broadcasts with your audience's activity patterns.
  7. Send and track: Hit send and watch as your message reaches your audience.

Benefits of broadcasting

Imagine being able to deliver your message to hundreds – or even thousands – of contacts in just a few clicks. Broadcasting ensures your communication is consistent, timely, and impactful. Plus, it saves you the hassle of sending messages one by one.

Here are some scenarios where this feature truly shines:

  • Promoting new offers: Share exclusive deals or discounts with your customers to boost sales.
  • Sending updates: Notify your clients about changes in your business or updates on services.
  • Engaging your audience: Share seasonal greetings, send event invites or announcements to maintain strong customer relationships.

Limitations of broadcasting

Kommo broadcasting comes with certain limitations:

  • The broadcast feature is available in the Advanced, Enterprise, and Trial plans.
  • Only administrators can send broadcasts.
  • Broadcasts have no character limit, but the limit of each specific channel still applies. If you exceed a channel’s character limit, the broadcast message will be split into two separate messages within that channel.
  • A maximum of 3 buttons can be included in each broadcast.

By understanding these limitations, you can better plan your broadcast strategy and ensure it aligns with your communication goals.

Broadcasting page

You can access the Broadcasting page anytime by clicking on the gear icon in the Chats section and selecting the Broadcasting subsection.

Here you can see all your drafts, as well as past, scheduled, and current broadcasts, so you never miss anything.

The broadcasting page in Chat tools is divided into four sections according to their statuses. Each section shows important information, such as the broadcast’s name, the number of leads it was sent to, its start date, and its creator. Let's look into each section:

  1. Scheduled broadcasts: Contains broadcasts that are planned to go live at a specific time in the future. You can review their details or make edits before they start.

Note: If a broadcast is set to start immediately, it will briefly appear in the Scheduled broadcasts section before moving to Active broadcasts.

  1. Active broadcasts: Displays broadcasts that are currently being sent to leads. This section helps you monitor ongoing activity in real time.
  2. Draft broadcasts: Shows broadcasts that have been saved but not yet scheduled or sent. You can return to this section to complete and send these drafts later.
  3. Completed broadcasts: Lists all broadcasts that have already been sent. Here, you can view their details, including duration and performance.
